As of now...

I'm watching Jessica Frech's online concert. She's so super great.

I'm always being reminded of why I'm a pescatarian.

Talent.

This guy is amazing. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be amazingly talented like this.

I am his daughter.

This song is from EFY last year. It's great for those times when you seem to lose perspective of what really matters.
Be inspired.

We are sandy-footed people.

Our week at the beach was fabulous. It was great to be with extended family, it was sad to see them go. It was so fun to see the little parts of each other that we share. From being a trivia whiz to the freckled faces, we each had a little something in common. Here's to family, love, and matching toes.

The waves, the sun, the sand.

We had hot, homemade doughnut for breakfast from the Pink Flamingo Cafe.

We buried Parker from head to toe!

This is my beach look. Hasn't changed all week long.

I practiced throwing the cast net today, my arms are sore!

My two biggest fish I caught. Gee whiz.

My favorite catch of the day.

Lindsay Dru. Fisher of men.

Legos.

A nifty way to always know where your keys are. Isn't that a neat idea?

Family.

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

They're here! Straight from Utah and Virginia, they've come to stay...for the week at least. Our first official outing was held at the Clubhouse at Hackers for a day of bowling, lazer tag, mini golf, arcade games, and great food. Monday morning, with the usuals and eleven new faces, the Van Tassell crew headed to Hilton Head Island, SC for a week at the beach house. As of now we are housing: Chris, Lane, Gene, Tammy, Ben, Betsy, Sarah, Emma, Michael, Nate, Andrew, Becca, Amy, Jessica, Dawn, Steve, Ryan, Parker, Dallin, Dana, David, Laney, Harrison, Gracie, and little old me. We'll be featuring a few guest appearances tomorrow by Darin, Whitt, Danielle, Carson, Dwight, Shanna, Mia, Sarah, and then Mr. Tucker on Friday. And maybe a few Hilton Head natives here and there. It's a full house.

When we weren't bowling...
 we were chatting.
We played a Just Dance on the Wii.
For a little longer than we probably should have.
Some had a little more rhythm than others.
Around midnight we broke out Rockband, deemed incomplete without the cowboy hat.
Soccer and wiffle ball games several times a day.
Instant new friends.
 Little critters.
And beautiful sunsets ending each day.

The week is off to a great start. I can't forget to mention the endless card games, unceasing amounts of food, and great company. I love my big family.

What is your love?

So there's cute little blog called Things About Love. On one post the blogger posts several quotes from children asked the question, "What does love mean?". You can read them here.

Love is a little different for each person. What is love to you? How to feel it? How do you show it? Is there someone who could use a little more of your love?

These boys...

are fantastic.
I had the opportunity to see BYU's Vocal Point at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
They were so fun & great to watch.

The Fourth

Happy Fourth of July

Mine was full of swimming, inflatable water slides the size of a house, frog jumping contests, pie eating contests, and enough family, friends, and food to fill a heart & a tummy to the top.

Reconnected

So after a week at Lake Powell, here's what you missed.

Sleeping on the roof for the week. (The sleeping bag with the blue blanket)

Bang-up breakfasts cooked on the front porch of the boat. When they weren't vegetarian friendly I resulted in photographing while I waited for my turn to use the stove.

Fantastic sunrises every single morning.

The occasional unhappy baby.

Beautiful cloudy days.

Landscapes to die for.

A windstorm that required a rescue squad to come to our aid.

Some tubing acrobatics with my best friend.

A little exploring here & there.

Some cliff diving for the adventurous souls.

Dominoes, Poker, and Scrabble.

And gorgeous sunsets to wrap up each day.

It was a great week, but home is sounding pretty nice.
