Today was a long day...

You know those days that you thought would go on forever? Today was one of those days. On such occasions it would be appropriate for one to take the initiative and decide to get a lot done.
For me? Not so much.

Today I ran some errands around town & took pictures at a baby shower. I should have a perfectly tidy bedroom and a spotless bathroom, a clean car and folded laundry.
I don't.

I'm not even sure where all the time that felt like it was passingly so slowly was even spent. Regardless, doing nothing exhausted me. I am currently rewarding myself with a good snuggle with Tuck the Bear.
Today was a long day.

Good Morning Summer!

Lindsay Dru Photography

Waking up to realize that today is the first official day of summer vacation was pretty sweet. I went through a list of all the awesome things I was going to accomplish today. I sat up, ready to face this list and get started... I then promptly hit my head on the ceiling and knocked my lamp off my bedside table.
The list could wait, I had to sleep off my clumsiness.

And did I mention this kid?

He doesn't normally sing, he makes YouTube videos,
but when he does it's absolutely fantastic.

Lift up your voice.

This here is Jessica Frech. She's new (to me) and she's great,
check her out.

This I believe and this I know.

believe
[bih-leev]
verb, -lieved, -liev·ing.
to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although
without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

know

[noh]
verb, knew, known, know·ing
to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly with certainty.

This I believe, this I know:
(Just to name a few)
  • Families are forever.
  • Someone, somewhere loves you.
  • I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father.
  • Car rides are therapeutic.
  • True photography peeks into the soul of the subject, breathing or not.
  • Prayer can heal a hurting heart. Nothing in the world is more comforting than talking to your Father.
  • Nothing good happens after midnight.
  • Parents are good people, despite what the teenage years may force one to believe.
  • My bed gives some of the best hugs ever.
  • Good books and rainy days make for an well-read bum.
  • Everyone can change the world, maybe not the whole entire world as in Planet Earth, but maybe their own world.
  • Love makes the world go 'round, the heart always has room for one more.
  • I believe in long walks and longer talks.
  • Sisters, biological or not, are here for the times when no one else is.
  • The importance of believing in yourself.

So, what is it that you believe in?
What do you know to be true?

Home.

LindsayDruPhotography

Today the class of 2011 walked across the stage & received their diplomas. All I could think today is: that will be me next year. I wonder if they felt like I do now. I'm not ready to grow up yet. Pay bills, figure taxes, not be able to talk with my sisters on my bed at night... Today I realized how special my little town is to me. The faces that I know and the streets that I can see when I close my eyes. Memories hidden everywhere. The yellow slide at the Fair Road park, the weekly dress displays at Frills N Fancies, the smell of the earth from the cotton fields on the outskirts of town. Things that I'll miss, no matter where life takes me.

"There is a magic in that little world, home; it is a mystic circle that surrounds, comforts, and virtues never known beyonds its hallowed limits." -Robert Southey

This is Mr. Tucker.

This is Mr. Tucker. He makes my heart smile on days when it only wants to be frowning. He's absolutely fantastic. He's smart and so very talented in so many ways. He's loyal and kind, always willing to serve. He tolerates moodiness and craziness. He keeps my feet on the ground, my head in the clouds, and a song in my heart. He's the best.

And we musn't forget that darling red hair.

A Motto to Be Applied to Life.

Do it now. Right now.

Things You May Have or Have Not Wanted To Know About Me

I like things. For example...
the smell of fresh cut grass, clean sheets,
taking pictures, cuddling, good Asian food,
new books, red heads, traveling, doodling, and flowers.
(Just to name a few)

But then again, I don't like things...
ignorance, lost remotes, paint on new pants,
crooked frames, and bad hair days.

So in closing,
My toothbrush is white & electric.
My cat's name is Socks.
I don't know how good I'll be at this blogging stuff.
